Getting Here
From London the driving distance to UK ports is very similar (apart from Plymouth) Driving distances to the house from French ferry ports (UK departure ports in brackets) are: 55 miles from Roscoff (Plymouth), 150 from St Malo & 250 from Caen (both Portsmouth), 350 from Dieppe (Newhaven) and 460 from Calais (Dover) The routes with the least driving are via St Malo and Roscoff – unless you live in Kent the Calais route is a very poor option!
Road links are good – Crozon is less than half an hour from the N12/N165 duel carriageways which link directly into the French motorway system. From E and SE England the best option is to use Brittany Ferries Portsmouth/St Malo outbound and Roscoff /Plymouth on the return leg - St Malo return means a horribly early start to get the boat from le Veniec whereas Roscoff is a short drive with afternoon and evening boats back to the UK
By Car/Ferry
Brittany Ferries Portsmouth – St Malo and Plymouth – Roscoff services are the most convenient services for the far west of France – Roscoff and St Malo are about 1 and 3 hours drive from Crozon. There's also a new pet friendly budget service from Portsmouth to Le Harvre - a longer drive on the French side but it's an easier drive than the M3 or 4 in the UK
Brittany Ferries Special Price
This year we can offer guests a 20% discount on ferry services - full details on booking!
By Air
Ryanair run a regualr Stanstead-Dinard service but it's around 150 miles from Dinard Airport to Le Veniec. There's also a new London Southend/Brest Service flying mondays and fridays and a once weekly Flybe service to Birmingham and Southhampton. Brest airport is less than an hour's drive from le Veniec and the usual car hire services are available at both airports
By Train
The SNCF run regular trains between Paris and Brest or Quimper - (be aware that you need to allow at least 90 minutes to cross Paris - through connections booked from London give over optimistic times - often only an hour - very stressful!) and there are car hire facilities at the stations.
